Big Brother Africa Fans across Africa have been left disappointed as the much awaited reality show was postponed after a massive fire gutted the amazing house where the show was due to kick off on September 7.
M-Net and Endemol SA released a statement on Tuesday night, which confirmed that the show had been postponed until further notice.
“Due to a devastating fire at the Big Brother house on 2 September 2014, Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday (7 September) as scheduled,” the organizers said.
“The cause of the fire, at this stage, is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so.”
“At this stage M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however, as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available.”
“Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa’s biggest reality show will continue.”
The organizers earlier this week had announced that Rwanda and Sierra Leone won’t participate because there isn’t enough time to process travel documentation.
“M-Net’s Africa Magic and series producers Endemol SA would like to confirm that Sierra Leone and Rwanda will no longer form part of the countries participating in this year’s edition of Big Brother Africa, launching on Sunday 7 September 2014.”
“Unfortunately, due to schedules and logistical constraints, there was insufficient time to follow the necessary procedures in order to process the required travel documentation which has recently become a more complex procedure.”
Now lets hope they will be involved this time round since the show has been postponed.
