The fever and FOMO of Blanket quarterly outdoor event Blankets and Wine is always felt when the organisers House of Djs announce the next edition’s date. Last year the 18th edition was a sellout boasting of performances from Sauti Sol, Benon and Vampos among others and this year, revelers came to be a part of what the 19th edition had to offer.
As usual gates were opened as early as midday and revelers began making their way in Lugogo Cricket Oval ready to party their last bit of the weekend. This is an event where you have to look good, unleash your swag as well as slay and this was the case yesterday just like other editions
South African Dj Heavy K was the last performer who kept the revelers’ vibe burning after exciting performances from Fik Fameica, Rwandese singer The Ben , The Roots Warriors Reggae band and R’Africa band from Democratic Republic of Congo who gave the fans value for their entry fees.
Fik Fameica thrilled fans performing songs ‘Gwe Abisobola’, ‘Pistol’, ‘Byenyenya’, ‘Sconto’, ‘My Property’, ‘Mafia’ and the fans’ favourite ‘Kutama’. A round of applause to his dancers who also threw the fans in frenzy with their eye catching dance moves
With all the vibe from Kigali, Rwanda, The Ben made the crowd scream and the ladies were left star struck screaming his name loud and trying to take selfies with him as if that was possible. He performed his songs but what excited the revelers more was when he sang to the late Mowzey Radio’s songs as a tribute.
The Roots Warriors Band made the crowd dance to some Reggae vibes as they performed cover hit songs from world big Reggae artistes like Bob Marley, Everton Blender, Bujun Banton, Alaine among other
The performances did not however boast of the above mentioned artisted but also others and Djs like Aka Dope Band, Tonya, The Bundus, Dj Spinny and Dj Xzyl who also had nice performances
Blankets and Wine is a place where we get to see Kampala’s classy beauties, celebrities, fashion lovers all in one venue and yesterday the was another experience the attendees still have on their lips. We are also sure there are those who are still sleeping because of the several blackouts we saw.
We have the photos but more are coming
