When the coronavirus outbreak started wracking havoc across the globe, many countries did not want to take chances and so they instituted stringent measures to curb its spread.
These included the banning of crowds and suspending all public gatherings which forced events organisers to cancel or postpone all the events which were due this year.
For Uganda’s case, most of these presidential directives and Ministry of Health guidelines are still in place, although a few others have also been lifted as well. According to the president, the country has so far performed well in observing the guidelines.
This has therefore forced events organisers to resort to online or ‘scientific’ concerts and other related social and entertainment activities.
Blankets And Wine, one of the biggest picnic-themed events has been one of the victims as the first of the 4 episodes which was due in April was cancelled. However, they are now back with a digital or online version dubbed ‘Blankets At Home’ or The Home Edition.
This will surely erase the nostalgia for the fans of the outdoor music festival, with the picnic-themed concert returning on Sunday, August 30 for music lovers and out-doors party enthusiasts.
Organizers of the show, House of Djs shared the news earlier this week about the much-celebrated music concert’s online edition that will now be held within the comfort of the fans home.
The music event whose home has always been the Lugogo Cricket Oval will have a fun and exciting twist brewing for next month with the online edition powered by Tusker Malt Lager.
Under the hash tag #blanketsathomemusic lovers will be sharing their Blankets at home experience as they dance and vibe to epic music playlists prepared by some of the finest DJ’s in Kampala.
So, fans of the festival and music lovers can get ready for a different feel of the event in an epic dance party that will be connected online. We shall keep you updated on the details concerning the line up of artistes and DJs to spice up things on that day.
