Bobi Wine In Bad Shape His Lawyers Say

For a couple of days, musician Bobi Wine has been trending not for musical reasons but for his political side and affiliation. The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament was arrested on Tuesday ahead of the Arua MP by-elections with charges of treason and by Wednesday, no one knew the state he was in.

It was however revealed by his lawyers Medard Sseggona and Asuman Basalirwa on Thursday that, Bobi Wine’s situation was alarming. They said that he was badly tortured, couldn’t stand neither sit or walk on his own. Besides that, they also added that his face was badly deformed and that he has a fractured back and hip.

They further said that he has wounds all over his body, including one on his head and ear, although no one apart from the lawyers has since seen him to verify whether all this is all true.

The lawyers also say that he has not yet fully regained consciousness and does not fully appreciate what is going on around him. He could barely talk coherently.

The same statement has been shared by another lawyer Erias Lukwago is among the few people with information about him and who was at Makindye barracks where Bobi is reportedly currently being held.

“I managed to see him but the situation is terrible. He talked to us with a lot of difficulty. He couldn’t stand or walk and was being carried. He says he was injected with substances he cannot tell and no medical examination has been done on him despite his condition,” Lukwago said.

Barbie Kyagulanyi, his wife came with a private doctor but the doctor was denied access to the barracks. According to Bobi Wine about 15 people invaded his hotel room and started beating him up in Arua. The artiste who also refers to himself as the ghetto president believes he stands for the youth and poor and is a strong critic of the ruling government and president Museveni.
