This is the time when being a prominent musician really works otherwise how could Bobi Wine have secured the post of being Express FC’s Brand ambassador?
One of Uganda’s oldest clubs on Friday announced Bobi’s signature in a press conference held at Kampala Serena hotel through the club new chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.
The Wankulukuku-based football club that was founded in 1957, based their decision on the fact that, the artiste is an ardent fan of Express and that he is the right person to promote it due to the fact that he’s a prominent figure.
According to Ram Hadji, the Club CEO, Bobi Wine brings a wealth of energy and following which is key to the football club in this era where local soccer is struggling for support.
However, Bobi Wine is not the first and only player associated to the game of football as other musicians like Eddy Kenzo supports Lweza United and sometimes trains with them; Sir Mathias Walukagga is a staunch Sports Club Villa fan while King Saha is always watching Vipers Sports Club games.
Hope the new love Ugandan artistes have found in football will help the Ugandan Premier league regain the popularity it had some years back.
