Breaking:Reggae Star Maxi Priest Arrives For Nile Gold Jazz And Soul Safari

The moment many have been waiting for is now fast approaching as  FOMO builds for the Nile Gold Jazz Safari which is around the corner and to even raise the excitement a notch higher, the headlining artiste has just landed in the country for the do.

Internationally recognized Reggae Superstar Maxi Priest landed a few minutes back at 10 minutes past 10 PM for the highly anticipated 9th edition of Nile Gold Jazz and Soul Safari which is slated for Saturday October 8th at the Lugogo Cricket Oval. The Superstar who will headline the annual Jazz festival alongside Saxophonist Jackiem Joyner and Trumpeter Lin Rountree a.k.a The Soul-Trumpeter on Independence eve arrived with a big entourage comprising band members, members of his management team and personal security.

He flew in alongside Lin Rountree and other band members at around 10:10pm aboard KLM and was welcomed by Jazz Safari boss Tshaka Mayanja and members of the organising team as well as a select team of media personnel. He was then driven straight to Sheraton Hotel in Kampala for a night’s rest before interacting with the media in the morning at 11:00 AM at the same hotel ahead of the highly anticipated concert now at a new bigger venue in Lugogo which is also expected to draw a record crowd this time round.

Besides the star-studded line up, new spacious venue and reduction in entry fees, another item on the menu expected to attract more revellers this year is the inclusion of local talent which will this time round be introduced to beef up the international cast as they will be given a chance to showcase their talents and take advantage of the massive opportunity to share the big stage with internationally renowned stars.

Also to look out for at the Nile Gold Uganda-sponsored AnnualNileGoldJazzandSoulSafari is an exciting menu where for the first time ever there is a new live session dubbed ‘Afro-Soul and Rumba Classics’ which will be headlined by Uganda’s music legends like Moses Matovu of Afrigo Band, Tony Ssenkebejje and Eddy Ganja. The other most exciting thing is that, they will be joined on stage by talented vocalist Lilian Mbabazi and Saxophonist Michael Kitanda. Now that is something to look out for as gates will open as early as mid day.
