FUFA delegates from the Buganda Region Football Association (BRFA) resolved to endorse the current president of Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Moses Magogo for yet another term in office.
The six delegates; Rogers Mulindwa, Hassan Kavuma, Jackline Musiime, Andy Kaweesa, Samuel Mpiima, and Michael Ssekabira, concurred and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with him if the photos that were posted on FUFA’s official website are anything to go by.
The delegates’ decision was based on several achievements registered under Magogo’s previous two terms that are ending in August this 2021.
They cited Uganda Cranes’ back to back qualification to the African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) finals since 1978, the Hippos Under 20 (U-20) playing in the AFCON finals and qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
They also said that Magogo has done well by improving the image of Uganda’s football on top of securing sponsorship for the local league and the national team.
“Women football is part of his manifesto and the secretariat is more recognized than before.” they said.
The delegates credited the FUFA president for working towards infrastructural development with several new buildings and the Kadiba stadium under construction.
The roadmap for the 2021 FUFA elections was released by the FUFA Electoral Commission and so far, the progress of district and regional elections is already executed.
The 97th FUFA elective assembly will be hosted by the Eastern Region Football Association on 21st August 2021 in Mbale City.
The elections will see Magogo fight to retain the seat for third time and he will tussle it out with Makindye West MP Allan Sewanyana and Proline FC Boss Mujib Kasule
