You must have heard, read or may be watched it on TV that Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall super stars Buju Banton, Beenie Man and Morgan Heritage band are coming to Uganda for a concert. It not a rumour, it is real.
According to Shashamane Sunrise the event organisers who have partnered with some of the best local event promoters, Talent Africa and Events Ware House, this concert this expected to be the best Reggae and Dancehall concert Uganda and East Africa have ever seen in recent memory.
We are talking about Saturday the 14th of September at Lugogo Cricket Oval where this gig dubbed ‘Uganda Africa Rising One Love’ is going to go down
The three have performed in Uganda before so they are familiar to some Ugandans who might want to go and watch them again.
Buju Banton last performed in Uganda in 1997, the Dancehall King Beenie in 2009 where as the Reggae Family Morgan Heritage had an exciting performance in August 2018. They are set for their return to continue from where they stopped from
“Saturday September the 14th is going to be a revolution in Uganda. You are going to have what is called Uganda rising. Africa rising. One Love at Lugogo Cricket Oval and we expect over 30,000 people chanting Rastafari name. The experience is going to be out of this world” Said the representative from Shashamane Sunrise in an exclusive interview with Chano8
Before Uganda, the artistes will perform in Kenya and Ethiopia respectively on 8th June and 10th September respectively. All the proceeds will go to aid Okoboi Primary School in Ngora district and Special Children Special People school in Bunga-Ggaba road
Apart from being a charity concert, this event is also aimed at empowering African youths to be part of the solution to make the 21st century a real African century and it will give a chance to 10,000 university students to watch the show for free.
For those who might not afford the tickets whose prices have not yet been released, the show will be broadcast live on BET, DSTV and NTV
