Burna Boy Would ‘Like To Party’ At The Club Mega Fest

Born on 2 July 1991, Burna Boy grew up in Ahoada, Rivers State but later moved to Lagos state.

He rose to fame when he released ‘Like To Party’ in 2012. The song swept radio and TV airwaves across Africa as it received a lot of air play. In Uganda alone, the song was a major hit in clubs and hangouts. When its start playing you may think there is an impending earthquake as fans just raise up at once and start showing off their impressive dance moves.

Like To Party is such an addictive song and considering the amount of air play it still receives its only safe to say, it’s one of those songs that grows on you whether you like it or not. Burna Boy describes it as ‘a groove slightly transformed, Just a bit of a break from the norm, Just a little somethin’ to break the monotony of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be a little bit out of control it’s cool to dance but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance.’

Burna Boy who has other hits like Tonight, Touch your toes and Run my race among others, earlier this year, said he’s no longer interested in many collaborations with Nigerian artists since none of them fits his style anymore. ‘‘No Nigerian artiste suits my style of music [anymore], I hope to work with an international act [like] American R&B singer John Legend’, Burna Boy said

In July this year, Burna Boy fired his mother from the managerial role, saying that time has come for his mother to be a mother and his manager to be a manager. With fame there are always hard decisions to make and this was probably of them.

Burna Boy is set to create ululations in the crowd come September 20 at Namboole Stadium. The Like to Star is definitely going to put on a flawless show in order to leave an awesome impression on his Ugandan fans.
