One of his last concerts that he held at Kampala Serena hotel, Dr Jose Chameleone got half the people he anticipated and to many, this was a total flop going by his brand and previous sold out concerts he has been having. Last year, salt was added in the wound when he emerged as one of the pioneers of ‘Tubonga Nawe’ a project that had 12 musicians campaigning for president Museveni.
His participation annoyed some people in the public and this somehow affected his career. It is even said that it’s one of the reasons he didn’t have a concert last year. But the latest we have up our sleeves is that the self-proclaimed music Doctor has put all the challenges behind by planning for his concert early next year which he’s going to call ‘The return of a legend’.
You will all agree with us that yes Chameleon is a legend after transforming Uganda’s music industry from a Lingala listenership audience to embracing our own Afrobeat. Details about the date, venue and amount for the event haven’t yet been established but with just a month and some days to go until this year ends, we will be letting you soonest.
