Veteran local musician Jose Chameleone is seriously becoming a public servant. Soon after announcing that he will be standing for Kampala Mayorship come 2021 general elections, he has also offered a new bus registered UBE 932M to Wakiso Giants Football Club earlier today.
Wakiso Giants will be playing the Uganda Premier League (UPL) at the start of the season and preparations are ongoing to get the team ready for the season and the bus will be taking the players all over the country during their UPL games.
The BUS was given to him by a kind man he met on one of his journeys in music.
“It was a great morning as I presented a BUS to WAKISO GIANTS FC at the home ground in Wakiso. Upon my recent travel around the USA 2018, as I was on my way to Phoenix I fortunately sat next to one kind Man, As we chatted he took me through an adventure of his business. I also shared to him who I was which got him overwhelmed and upon off boarding the flight we shared contacts and promised to reach out each other again. Yes we did when I met him again In Oregon, we talked about passions in which I told him of what I do beyond music. I love sports and – Wakiso Giants FC my team that I have loved and supported regardless!! He picked a lot of interest and asked me what best he can contribute to us.” Chameleone wrote on his Facebook Page
The business man donated a bus to the team but wasn’t responsible to ship and pay tax for it.
“On more talk he mentioned that he had a bus company and asked whether giving WAKISO GIANTS one would make a change. I was so happy and immediately reached the administration of this team because he only gave a bus to the team and wasn’t responsible to ship and pay tax for it.” Read more of Chameleone’s post.
He officially handed the bus to the club alongside the FUFA president Moses Magogo.
The Leone Island musician has been a longtime fan of Wakiso Giants and with his interest in politics, don’t be surprised if he takes over the presidency of the club.
