Collin Farrell is set to replace Matthew McConaughey as the lead actor in the True Detective series.
On Tuesday, HBO confirmed that Collin Farrell and Vince Vaughn would be joining the series.
The two would replace Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson who were the stars of the first season.
Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, ‘a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him,’ according to a statement from HBO.
While Vaughn will portray Frank Semyon, ‘a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business.’
With those spots now filled, the cast still needs two detectives with one of them being female.
The director of the Fast and Furious has also been brought on board to direct the first two episodes. With that said, there is no way you can’t be excited about the new season of True detective.
