Confirmed: Legendary Congolese Music Star Awilo Longomba  To Rock Kampala In April

Despite the fact that Congolese music is no longer as big as it used to be in the 80’s and 90’s, a few die-hard fans have still stuck to the music style that once ruled the continent as they continue to enjoy the beats of Rumba, Soukous and Kwassa Kwassa among others in night clubs, portable gadget play lists and on the mega record players at home.

It is therefore against this backdrop that, Cents Events decided to bring one of the veterans of the Congolese music and dance in legendary singer and performer Awilo Longomba

To all music lovers especially Congolese music, the flamboyant artiste known for songs like ‘Coupé Bibamba’, ‘Gâté le Coin’, ‘Karoline’ will be back in Kampala on 4th April 2019 in a live performance alongside his band at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The energetic Awilo Longomab will once again be in Kampala for a live show.

In a twitter message directed to his Ugandan fans, Awilo confirmed this week that, he will be partying and having a good time with his fans in Kampala soon.

“Walking into the new week like…. We can’t wait for @awilolongomba to bring hard beats to Uganda #AwiloLiveInKampala,” tweeted the African superstar.

FOMO is already building as Cents Events the organisers are putting together the Nitty-Gritty that goes with hosting such an event of mega international magnitude.

“We are very excited to be bringing Awilo Longomba to Kampala. Many of us grew up listening or dancing away to his music, and we can already feel the nostalgia, thinking about how incredible the experience is going to be. And we are inviting all Ugandans and music lovers to come be a part of this memorable night,” added Vincent Nsubuga, the Cents Events CEO.

Kampala Serena Hotel and BBS Terefayina will be supporting the part whose tickets are already available for sale according to organisers. They go for Ugx 100,000 (general), VIP seats at 400K and a table for 10 at Ugx4m.

Awilo was last here about a decade ago and many will be looking forward to seeing him once again especially after his new song ‘Rosalina’ awakened some good old memories and nostalgia is heating up.
