We have landed into fresh details about the killing of Suzan. Apparently, the kidnappers once cut off her two fingers and sent them to her family in a video. Furthermore, it has been learnt that the same kidnappers used Simcards registered in disguised people’s names.
A one Maliza Kasitu who is said to be ‘a close family member’ posted on Facebook this message;
“Security apprehended over 6 suspects after tracking the phone details. The revelations are disturbing. Apparently, her kidnappers were using sim cards that are registered in other people’s particulars. I think UCC and the telecom firms need to help us. Nobody should have a SIM card without his picture or National ID or Passport. The vendors who sell these cards on the streets must be stopped if they can’t adhere to the regulations. UCC must do both regulation and enforcement. Otherwise a joint security team did the best they could in the circumstances. This girl died a very painful death after a lot of torture. At one point, the kidnappers cut off her two fingers and sent them with a video to the girl’s father. She pleaded with her dad to forget about police and simply pay her captors. The father obliged and gave them the money and they still killed her.”
In a statement which police has released and signed by IGP Kale Kayihura, the force confirms indeed it was a gruesome murder and appeals to the general public to come forth and help identify a voice in a recording believed to be of one of the kidnappers. A reward of 100,000,000/- has also been offered.
