Different Cultures In Uganda To Be Showcased At Inaugural ‘My Culture My Identity’ Festival

Uganda is one of the countries in Africa with defined culture which we really need to jealously protect because it brings out our identity. However, due to modernity and lack of serious elders to promote it, we have for some reason lagged behind when it comes to promoting and loving our culture

With an aim to enrich the young people with knowledge about culture, Culture World in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities came up with the first ever ‘My Culture My Identity Festival’ which is going to bring together all the Ugandan cultures together, slated for Saturday the 22nd of June at Uganda Museum located in Kitante, Kampala

The event that is set to feature different cultural groups, leaders and enthusiasts will have lots of activities taking place like bazaar, exhibitions, fashion showcase, poetry, mini tournaments and comedy without forgetting the games like ‘mweeso’, ‘ddulu’, ‘kwepena’, ‘bulaada’ and winners will walk away with instant gifts

While speaking at the press briefing held at Uganda Museum on Tuesday Morning, the CEO Culture World Mrs Lavinia Tuhimbise had this to say.

“For the first time, we are going to see our culture being showcased at the Uganda museum, we are going to have a lineup of top designers in Uganda showcasing traditional and African wear”. Lavinia said
