Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo is one of the most affected people in this world by the outbreak of Coronavirus to date.
The BET award winner who is stranded in Ivory Coast after the lockdown got him there has been crying everyday for help from government and fellow Ugandans in authority to make him return home.
Following the indefinite postponement of his inaugural Eddy Kenzo Festival, the ‘Semwokozo’ singer travelled to the West African country to perform for some small upkeep cash only to be trapped there following President Yoweri Museveni’s directive to hat all passenger flights in and out of the country.
After all efforts to return yielded nothing, Kenzo who has been living in a hotel is yet again in tears, crying for help after running out of money. He is even willing to surrender his monster Land Cruiser V8 ride for whoever sends him money via Western Union.
Although he did not specify the amount he needs in the tweet written in a mixture of English and Luganda, sent to his followers, the tone in the message is clearly one from a desperate person.
“I Was watching president adding more 21 days of which mutufu kubanga kiyamba egwanga naye nze sigenda kufa banange who can send me western union. Muwe emotoka yange otherwise siri bulungi “He said.
As usual, he also sent an update of how badly things are going on over there in terms of COVID-19 confirmed cases which is now at 700 compared to Uganda’s 55 as of Friday 17th April 2020.
Good bit of the news is that recently the singer got for himself a good cook and at least is eating something ‘sensible’.
