Eddy Kenzo who has undoubtedly been one of the leading artistes in Africa, recently talked to chano8 about why he doesn’t speak good English and we must say his story is really touching.
In the exclusive interview, he said ‘my dream was to be a professional superstar, but first I wanted to be a professional footballer because I was very good in football. Football was the reason I managed to go to school.’
He further goes on to talk about his English, ‘It’s true when they say that I don’t speak English. They are right my English is not good, but for a reason.’
When his mother died at his tender age of about 4-5 years old, Kenzo and his brother were forced to vacate the house because they couldn’t afford rent, so they had to start another life of living on the streets where he stayed for 13 years.
He never went to primary school but only went to secondary school because of football and was forced to drop out in S.4 because he didn’t have a pass slip for primary. That’s the reason why he can’t express himself very well in English because he was never taken to school.
