Excitement As Kyengera Boda Rider Wins 1st Motorcycle In Shell Advance ‘WangulaNgaKapo’ Boda Promotion

Vivo Energy Uganda has today handed over the first of 15 motorbikes to a lucky winner in the ongoing “WangulangaKapo” promotion that will see over 40,000 boda riders rewarded with up to UGX 300 million worth of prizes.

The promotion is part of the “Shell Advance KapoW’ekibuga” campaignthat seeks to recognize, appreciate and reward bodaboda riders for the role they play in many peoples’ lives across the country.

The motorbike was handed over to John Walakira, a bodaboda rider operating in Kyengera, a suburb on Masaka road, after emerging the grand prize winner in the first of 12 weekly draws.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony at Shell Kyengera, Alex Tusingwire, the Vivo Energy Lubricants Brand Manager said the promotion is aimed at appreciating and rewarding the bodaboda riders, whilst highlighting their overall importance in our communities.

“We are appreciatingBoda Boda riders for the important role they play in our lives. They get us to work on time, take our kids to school, offer delivery services and keep millions of Ugandans going on their daily hustles. They are the unsung heroes of our cities and are thus deserving of the recognition. Through this campaign, Boda riders have an opportunity to experience our Shell Advance dedicated motorbike engine oils while they reap the amazing appreciation rewards we have lined up for them.”

Receiving the first brand new motorbike to be given away during this promotion, the visibly excited Walakiracould not hold back his joy. “This new motorcycle means a lot to me because I am now my own boss and have an extra source of income for myself and my family. Thank you Shell Advance for recognizing and rewarding boda riders. I encourage all my friends to buy Shell Advance and participate in this promotion because it is real and credible.” He said.

There are now 14 brand new motorbikes left among other amazing rewards to give away over the next 11 weeks. To participate in the “WangulangaKapo” promotion, riders simply have to service their bikes with Shell Advance motorcycle oil at any participating outlet, fill out their details in a service entry coupon and drop them off in the designated promotion drop boxes. Each participating rider will receive an SMS confirming entry into the weekly draws.

The promotion is running across more than 170 participating outlets including 73 Shell service stations and over 100 independent motorbike garages.
