Fatboy Out, Salvado In. What Else Is Happening At Sanyu FM?

Sanyu Fm seems to be in turmoil after all the staff members were fired following a sit-down strike they organized in protest of salary cutouts.

But one man who is happy about the situation at one of the oldest FM stations is Comedian Salvado Patrick Idringi who seems to be the first beneficiary after he was given the mandate to replace long serving presenter James Onen aka Fatboy who yesterday confirmed he was fir from the station after 21 years of service.

Idringi who was promptly hired to fill the void to run the Breakfast Show has been beaming with delight as he shared a poster announcing his grand entrance into the station with a big smile.

The popular comedian was beaming literally with a smile on the poster announcing the man from Embokolo is replacing Fatboy a controversial radio presenter who had been the iconic voice at the station for two decades.

Salvado  this morning reported for duty swiftly and straight away went to business, cracking his new audience with jokes although being the first recruit, he found himself alone at work with virtually the rest of the seats empty as the entire staff got fired.

Radio legend real name James Onen has left the station unceremoniously owned by business mogul Sudhir Ruparelia and now is pondering his next move as the station also recruits new staff.

Fatboy who has been at the helm of the very popular breakfast show on the station running every Monday to Friday 6am to 10am has been reported in some sections of the media to be the ring leader of the strike by staff which happened after management proposed to slice their salaries by 25% due to effects of coronavirus.

The 45-year-old ‘King of Radio’ thus became the first to be replaced as says he will be communicating future plans to his disgruntled fans soon.

“21 years. The ride is over. Thanks for the support all these years, you’re the best fans in the world. Will communicate future plans soon. In the meantime, ladies, I’m coming for some transport money.” He posted.

Fatboy is now officially out of the station after 21 years of dedicated service there.

New reports also indicate that a section of Sanyu FM workers has begged to return to work after absconding from duty for three days following the protesting of 25% pay cut as suggested by management.

The radio station management had proposed to its staff that because all businesses in the country have been crippled down due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was imperative to reduce salaries so as to retain all workers without layoffs.

Tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia, the proprietor of the station says that with the old staff reneging over the new salary arrangements forced by the Coronavirus “new blood” will slot in and fill the void.

First day at work for Salvado started with a big smile.

The decision met stiff resistance from workers spearheaded by the station’s long serving presenter James Onen aka Fat Boy and decided to abandon work since Saturday.

The reports also say Sudhir’s son Rajiv Ruparelia under whose docket the station falls is already in plans to recruit new staff because he feels the old workers betrayed the company by laying off their tools.

We shall keep you updated with new developments.
