Here Are Five Things You Missed At the Best Of Bebe Cool Which Attracted Massive Turn up

For those of you who did not show up for the Best of Bebe Cool concert at Kampala Serena Hotel yesterday, you might live to regret for the rest of your life. The hugely successful concert was well attended and or boy, the performances were electrifying too.

Chano8 was there full force and now we present to you key points and photos of what transpired at the concert;

Bebe Cool together with the organisers had stated clearly that, the concert was only for 1600 people. Well, chano8 can exclusively reveal that the massive crowd was way above that number which was about 2000.The 50,000/= Tickets had already sold out by Wednesday 7th, and by late evening on D day, most of the 100,000/= tickets were snapped up and only VIP tickets remained. Those too got finished even before the show kicked off.

Just two songs into Bebe’s concert, most of the tickets that the organisers had kept in the ‘backup’ category too were bought off at the entrance. All the quests who attended were given VIP treatment. In the crowd was Property Mogul Sudhir Ruparelia, General Katumba Wamala, Captain Juma Seiko, Godfrey Kirumira, Gordon Wavamuno, Elvis Sekyanzi, Frank Gashumba and the Uganda Cranes players among the notable VIP guests. There were also other artists, producers, beautiful campus girls, smartly dressed dudes, Socialites, The Gagamel family, music enthusiasts and members of the media. This was a clear message to Ugandans especially critics (who had predicted a flop) that, Bebe Cool indeed has a big following and no matter what, people will always turn up for his show.

By 8:00PM, the house was already full. Those who were still queuing outside were getting impatient as they could not wait to be part of history. The VIP section was well arrange, decorated and organised. The sound was crystal and lights breathtaking with special effects of backdrop on giant screens all courtesy of Fenon records. There was the ‘feel good’ atmosphere in all corners. And NTV was in the house to relay live events to audiences back home.

The crowd was visibly excited and Serena being a five star hotel provided the air conditioned comfy environment at the Victoria hall with no hassling, tight security, parking space. Almost all the guests had a comfortable seat with a few who preferred to stand and dance to the tunes.

The new Gagamel tickets were used for the first time and most guests confessed they were impressed and excited to own one. Most felt important holding the electronic cards which gave the entertainment industry something new. Not to forget were the beautiful KFM ushers who made guests feel at home as they welcomed and ushered them into their seats. The killer smiles displayed on their faces surely made some people momentarily forget their problems in this world.

Most people do agree that Bebe Cool is a good performer and last night was testament to that fact. Indeed Big size is ‘munene munene’ when it comes to live performances. Backed by the elegant Gagamel Band, the ‘Nkola Byafayo’ singer moved the crowd with his top hits which he kicked off with ‘Big size’ and gave Africa a tribute by dedicating a period in his performance to songs praising Africa which also saw Nandujja hit the stage with some traditional Buganda dances.

Bebe was energetic throughout as usual and sang with assured confidence. He displayed rare dance moves too as some lingala was introduced into the fray. The emotional moment of the event was when his two children Thierry and Beata came on stage to give him a banquet of flowers as he performed the massive hit ‘love you every day’. Many people in the crowd struggled to hold back their tears as Bebe confessed it was the first time his children were watching him perform live. He hugged them passionately and even struggled to hold his tears too. The whole experience was just too beautiful to behold.

Well the debate of which Band is the best in Uganda will be for another day. As for last night, Gagamel Band was Flawless and elegant. They were smartly dressed to begin with. Very organized in their setup. The young team obviously is packed with talent but last night, they gave a performance worth remembering led by Base guitarist Fazik and Josh on the trumpet, the members were electrifying and entertaining throughout the 3-hour performance. The backup singers were angelic too.

And the queen dancers raised a few eyebrows with their wriggling sexy bodies. Each time they came on stage, the temperatures would sky rocket in the Victoria hall. Bebe Cool’s wife Zuena Kirema crowned it all when she joined them in shaking what their mama gave them and the crowd went wild with excitement. She received a well deserved standing ovation for the few minutes on stage.
