As local teams continue to prepare for the much anticipated NSSF_KAVC International volleyball tournament scheduled for Aug 2,2019 Friday at both the Hockey and MTNArena stadiums, Lugogo, the foreign teams confirmed for participation in the tournament have arrived in Kampala.
The foreign teams include Amicale, Rukinzo and Gacosmos from Burundi, South Sudan’s Rainbow and Jur River Flyers, Tanzania’s kagera and many more including Ethiopia and Kenya
“My team has been training and we know how competitive NSSF_KAVC tournament can be, therefore, we are prepared enough to win the trophy and take the prize money back home to Bujumbura” RukinzoHead Coach Col Kabura said.
Unlike other years, where the tournament has attracted the teams from only the East African region, this year, Madda Walabu from Ethiopia is participating for the very first time in NSSF-KAVC tourney.
Mustapha, the president zone 5 has thanked the organisers and the sponsors for improving the quality of Volley ball competition with in the region by observing the standard rules and regulations of the game.
The rules and regulations of the games are not going to change, visiting teams are not allowed to have two professional players on court at the same time while local teams are allowed but should not exceed two players. local teams must be registered in the UgandanVolley ball League for them to be able to compete in the tournament.
Starting from quarter finals, an accolade will be awarded to the player of the match and others like MVP and best attacker in a very game until the finals on Sunday.
Some of the local teams set to participate in the tournament are KAVC both men and women, KBC Nkumba both Men and Women,Ndejje Elites, Matrix, KCCA, Skyand many more.
Foreign teams, according to their coaches are set to compete for the ultimate prize, it should be noted that last year’s defending champions were all Ugandan teams and these were KAVC -Men and Ndejje -Women.
