Former Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo To Inspire Young Girls At Miss Uganda – Canada

Former Miss Uganda and Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo will inspire and mentor young aspiring beauty queens at the upcoming Miss Uganda – Canada 2020 through her foundation.

The winner of the 2018 Miss Uganda crown made history after making it to the top 4 at the Miss World pageant and emerging Miss World-Africa which put the country on the world map making news all over international channels in the process.

Through her Quiin Abenakyo Foundation, she has partnered with the organisers of the Miss Uganda- Canada Bigseal Foundation to mentor the top 3 winners of the Miss Uganda Canada who will fly in the country after the Toronto Grand Finale in July before taking part in the Miss Uganda North America Pageant.

Miss Quiin Abenakyo (2nd Left) consults with Brenda Nanyonjo (C) during the press conference.

While speaking at a press briefing this afternoon, Miss Uganda franchise holder and organiser Brenda Nanyonjo said they settled for Abenakyo mainly because of her achievements on the international scene which gave her a lot of exposure and experience which she can pass onto other younger girls who would like to be like her in future. “So, she is the right person to inspire others”. She said

“Miss Uganda (Under Brenda and Kezzy Entertainment) will be celebrating 10 years this year and we are already in the process of oragnising some activities. So this partnership comes at the right time when we are building our relationship with the Diaspora community”. Nanyonjo explained.

Nanyonjo also cleared the air concerning why current Miss Uganda Oliver Nakakande was ‘over looked’ for the project saying by the time the Miss Uganda-Canada pageant will take place, they will also be in the process of getting a new Miss Uganda and preparing for Miss World as well, therefore it would be difficult for the reigning queen at that time to be active in travelling.

The dates for the auditions are 6th June 2020 in Ottawa, 13th June 2020 in Toronto, 20th June 2020 Vancouver 27th June in Edmonton and registration is already ope at the Big Seal Foundation offices in Kisasi – Kyanja Road.

The organisers briefing the press this afternoon on what to expect.

Katumba John Peter the Bigseal Foundation founder says they are working on this project in partnership with the Uganda Embassy In Canada and the Uganda High Commissioner. He says it will be a continuous project that will feed the Miss Uganda – North America with the top 3 finalists and proceeds go to charity.
