Whoever said football and politics don’t mix, should just sit down and take a chill pill because football star George Weah has defied the odds and could become hold the biggest political post in Liberia as early results indicate he is in the lead ahead of about 19 other candidtes.

After the long tension, the former footballer was reported to be in the lead in the Liberian presidential elections, ahead of close rival and vice president Joseph Boakai.

The former AC Milan footballer first ran for the post of vice president in 2011 but was on the losing end. He didn’t give up as he went back on the drawing board and reorganized himself to come for the bigger post which he may succeed at.
