Former Uganda Cranes captain Dennis Onyango distanced himself from the news that he is set for return to play for Cranes again.
This came after a tweet on NTV Uganda’s official Twitter account indicating that Onyango “is set for a sensational return”.

Onyango replied the tweet saying that the information in it is false. “Official sources can confirm that this is absolutely false,” -Read his tweet
Meanwhile, Dennis Onyango announced his retirement from international football on 12th of April, 2021 after over 16 years of service.
He had 79 caps to his name since making his international debut in 2005 against Cape Verde.
He started his career at Nsambya FC and SC Villa in Uganda before joining St George in Ethiopia, Super sport, Black Aces, Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa.
Onyango will be remembered for his tremendous contribution to Uganda Cranes, as he led the Cranes to two Total Africa Cup of Nations finals (Gabon 2017 and Egypt 2019), as well as winning the CAF player of the year living in Africa award in 2016, having guided Mamelodi Sundowns to their first Total CAF Champions League title.
President Yoweri Museveni rewarded him with a brand new Sports Utility Vehicle – SUV for his 15-year uninterrupted service to the country at a function held on Thursday at State House – Entebbe in May, 2021.
