The VIVO Energy-sponsored Tokosa 2017 edition was excited as the previous editions especially to food enthusiasts who congregated on Saturday at Legends grounds to witness once again the magic hands cooking some awesome nerve-wrecking delicacies and learning in the process as well.
The event lived up to its hyper-billing and pre-event hype as the day’s special guest chefs demonstrated some useful skills for the revellers who followed the proceedings keenly while salivating to the sweet aromas that emanated from the cooking pans.
This was headlined by none other than headlining supreme chef line up of Chef Mehmet Demiroğulları of Sheraton Hotel, Kampala Food Network’s Kavitha Serunkuma and Chef Hannat from the Food Library. They showed some exciting cuisines and demonstrated the power of simplicity while coming up with tasty meals in just minutes especially while using the magical amazing pan by Kampala Food Network.
Chef Mehmet excited the guests with his coking antics at the cooking table as he did his thing. He made a signature meal dubbed ‘The Mehmet Beef wrap’ which is his original cuisine creation and the revellers who had a bite all, agreed it was tasty and a new exciting culinary feeling.
Other exciting activities at the annual event now in its third edition included, the Couple’s cook-up challenge where NTV’s Brian Mulondo and wife Bianca just took the whole fun bit of the exercise to the next level as they got crazy with their hilarious moves while cooking. They danced, drank and ate while cooking ‘lunch’ for the family. Brian in particular instead of cooking was more of a cheer leader as he munched the food and crunched carrots.
Other cook-up challenges saw Fathers face off in a Dad’s cook up challenge while the Singles like Urban Tv’s Denzel also cooked ‘dinner’ for their visiting girlfriends. Children had lots of fun in the DSTV Sponsored tent with games and cartoons showing on large screens and entertainment from Lydia Jasmine as well as Mairice Kirya and the Zumba Ladies.
Tokosa Food Festival is an annual event that celebrates all things food, cooking, eating, sharing and bonding. Tokosa aims to promote relationships, explore cuisines offered by Kampala’s best food places, attract visitors to this beautiful nation and celebrates the titans of the kitchens.
