The Gagamel Cards which were launched a few weeks back were officially used for the first time last night at the Best of Bebe Cool concert at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The new electronic ticketing system that was introduced for abating fraud, forgery cleaning up the usually tedious confusion and queues we have always witnessed at the popular shows in Kampala was a massive success. Most attendees told us that the classy cards were very convenient and easy to use.

Armed with Laptops, scanning gadgets and other high-tech devices, the system was manned by a team of highly skilled IT technicians and specialists from SMS ONE and Chano8. The process involved swiping and scanning the cards to verify authenticity, initialising and registering of attendance. Guests were then issued wrist bands before being ushered to their respective seats.

Although there were a few glitches here and there at the beginning, the process eventually was smooth and swift as guests were cleared very fast at the entry so as to join in the fan happening inside the Victoria Hall. Some guests confessed they were very excited and happy for this ‘dotcom’ invention as it gave them a classy feel.

‘I am happy to have this card. It is very convenient to move with and i like the look and design which is classy.” Said Nanyonga Joan a diehard Bebe Cool fan

The Micropay powered cards that operate like ATM cards or any business smart cards can be used to transact other businesses like Money transfers, paying utility bills and shopping. The card holder can also use the same cards to attend any other Bebe Cool concerts in future. And with the way things were running smoothly, hopefully other players in the industry can follow suit in inventing their own systems to help manage these kinds of events
