The long wait is over and finally the organizers of the annual Jazz Safari have now unveiled the line up for the 8th edition of the Nile Gold Jazz Safari concert to take place in Kampala Serena Hotel on 2nd October 2015. This follows last year’s successful experience where over 1,000 Jazz enthusiasts and lovers of music thronged Serena conference Center in Kampala
The concert themed ‘Saxo-Jazz funk Meets Sultry Soul” will be headlined by Grammy award nominee and internationally recognized RNB superstar Karyn White of the ‘Superwoman’ fame, the sublime multi-award winning Jazz maestros Kirk Whalum and Gerald Albright whose contribution to Jazz and music has been widely acclaimed.
At the unveiling of the trio last night at club Guvnor, Chief organizer and CEO Jazz Safari Tshaka Mayanja reiterated their commitment to bringing talented and masterful Jazz acts from all over the world to Kampala and deliver unforgettable performances that create extraordinary musical experiences.
Jazz music has been steadily growing in the country and thanks mainly to the annual Jazz Safari concerts that take place in Kampala Serena Hotel with the audience swelling bigger and better each time it’s held. The audiences are also getting to understand and appreciate Jazz music more and more with local stars like Isaiah Katumwa and Myko Ouma carrying the national flag at the forefront.
Stephen Mwange, the chairman of Uganda Rotary Cancer Program appreciated the work done by Nile Gold Jazz Safari in supporting the Uganda Rotary Cancer Program aimed at improving access to cancer treatment.”I wish to thank the Annual Nile Gold Jazz Safari who for the last three years have been committed and have contributed to support this noble cause” he said
Kampala’s premium night club Guvnor who have come in as new partners hosted the unveiling and provided guests with yummy bites which were watered down with free flowing Nile Gold beers.
