Hilarious Reactions From Ugandans As Covid-19 Cases Hit 1000

According to a press release that was issued by Ministry of Health on their social media platforms on Thursday afternoon, Uganda now has 1000 confirmed Coronavirus Disease 19 (Covid19) cases.

By closure of Wednesday, Uganda had only 997 cases but from the 3,316 samples that were tested on Wednesday, 23 came out positive, making it a total of 1000 by the time went to press.

Of these 23, 12 are Ugandan nationals who recently returned from abroad, 3 from Democratic Republic of Congo, 1 from South Sudan and 8 from Afghanistan and according to ministry, they were under quarantine by the time of testing.

There were 31 other people (foreign truck drivers) who tested positive for Covid19 from the border points of entry but they weren’t permitted to enter the country.

As of now, the Pearl of Africa hasn’t registered any Covid deaths and the recoveries are now at 908 meaning that the positive ones are only 92 as of now.

From the time Ministry of Health announced that cases at now 1000, a section of Ugandans has since then been making fan of the ministry sarcastically on social media.

“We hit the 1000 mark and accurately.. This accuracy calls for fireworks” Said a Twitter user identified as Kaganda Shafiq. “Open bars and we celebrate wow I just feel so happy” said Latif Muyanja
