- South African Legend Hugh Masekela back in Kampala for another breathtaking jazz concert.
- He will perform alongside Sax Maestro Isaiah Katumwa.
- Rotary Uganda celebrates 60 year anniversary.
The South African Jazz Legend Hugh Masekela has joined hands with RotaryUganda to hold a special concert aimed at raising funds to help complete the Rotary Blood Bank at Mengo hospital and equip the Trauma Centre at the Rotary Mukono Hospital.
He will play alongside our own celebrated Sax Maestro Isaiah Katumwa for this cause. The two have promised to give fans an unforgettable experience. During the press conference Hugh was more than pleased to be back to Uganda. He said, ” I love the people and the hospitality, its almost like being back home.”
This concert is also a part of celebrations to mark 60 years of Rotary serving humanity in Uganda. Rotary in Uganda has prioritized the need for bigger and bolder projects to humanity, like the Blood Bank at Mengo hospital, the Mukono Hospital and the Cancer Centre in Nsambya. all though there are several blood donations in the country, Uganda has only one known blood bank which does not efficiently supply all hospitals in time. Having another blood bank set up will ease the pressure at the Nakasero blood bank and save lives.
The concert will take place on Sunday 26th February 2017 at the Kampala Serena Hotel Victoria Hall, starting at 6:00pm. The guests will be treated to a red carpet affair as they enter the conference hall just like those events in Hollywood. It is anticipated that all the A-listers are expected to grace this particular event.
Tickets are now on sale at UGX 200,000/= per person for gallery seating and UGX 5m for corporate tables.
These tickets are available Total Service Stations (Wampewo Avenue and opposite Uganda House), Simba Telecom (Kampala Road, Garden City and Lugogo Mall), Aristoc (Garden City and Kampala Road) and the Rotary Office- NIC building Kampala.
