‘I Am Honored To Be Here’ – Angella Katatumba Speaks Out On UN Summit

Need we say something? The smile says it all

This follows Katatumba’s recent appointment as the Face of Uganda Cancer Institute and this invite clearly shows that she is still continuing to wave the Humanitarian flag at full mast even on an international level. She exclusively talked to Chano8 from Istanbul in a brief chat.

Chano8: How does it feel to perform at this stage?

I absolutely feel honoured to be in Istanbul Turkey to attend and perform at the UN First ever Humanitarian Summit.

Chano8: How did you land on this deal ?

I am honestly not sure. But I noticed that the invitation came 3 weeks after I donated 10 Million UGX to Mulago Hospital. The donation was so well received and widely covered in the media. So I assume someone from the UN saw and appreciated that.

Chano8: And how are you finding the whole experience?

The experience is so amazing, so high end and unreal. I am so overwhelmed and honoured for my NGO, AKDF to be globally recognised.

I also find this experience as hope for the World Humanitarian failures.
During the summit, we have reaffirmed our shared responsibility to humanity and agreed to a concrete set of actions to enable all stakeholders – including leaders of governments, humanitarian organizations, affected populations, and the private sector – to better prepare for and respond to humanitarian crises.

Not forgetting hundreds of fascinating displays showcased at the Exhibition Fair and Innovation Marketplace.

Chano8: Lastly what else are you doing besides performing and may be presentations.

The summit is so massive and exhausting.
After my day’s attending summit sessions and side events, I go back to my hotel room at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel, freshen up, go for dinner then return, rest and prepare for the next day’s Summit Agenda.

The summit is an extremely informative, great and motivational experience.
From here, I am continuing with my Humanitarian obligations in a high gear.
My fans should warm up for my V.I.P Red Carpet “Mulago Yaffe” concert in July at Katonga Hall, Kampala Serena Hotel to raise awareness on fundraising for Cancer as the Face of Uganda Cancer Institute and ambassador of Uganda Bikers.
