The Young Achievers Awards has been growing in leaps and bounds since its inception seven years ago in 2009. Last year, after it was officially taken over by Reach A Hand Uganda, the awards ceremony held at Kampala Serena Hotel were so magnificent, full of pomp and glamour.
It’s for this reason that Johnnie Walker one of the most respected premium brands on the international spirit market has come on board to support this year’s edition due on August 18th at the same venue.
While speaking at a press briefing where Johnnie Walker was officially unveiled as the title sponsors for the Young Achiever’s Awards 2018, Head of International premium spirits and Johnnie Walker brand manager at Uganda Breweries Ltd. Mr Roger Agamba said Johnnie is proud to be part of the awards because of the successful track record they have registered through the years.
“As Johnnie Walker, we are proud to associate with a winning brand like Young Achievers Awards in order to inspire the next generation of leaders because unlike many business that die in their infancy, the awards have survived the passed the incubation stage and is headed in the right direction” He said.

It is only fitting that we motivate our next generation of leaders through young achievers’ stories passion, resilience and positivity powered by humanity’s strong will to progress onto the path to achieving greatness”. Mr Agamba added.
Part of the 80million sponsorship package will go into organising a pre-event cocktail for guests and also for publicity of the awards.
The Young Achievers Awards platform is designed to celebrate the achievements of youth Ugandans who have excelled in the realms such as the Arts, Entrepreneurship, Media and Journalism, Philanthropy, Innovation and Sports among others, as well as encourage those who choose the path of entrepreneurship and leadership..
This year’s edition will celebrate 10 most outstanding young people in the categories of; Social Entrepreneurship, Business, Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Innovation, Outstanding Sports Personality, Media and Journalism, Farming and Agro-Processing, Music, Fashion, Film & Photography, Young Achiever of the Year, Young Hero/Heroine of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement award.
According to Mr Ibrahim Waiswa Batambuze the Communication Director at Reach A Hand Uganda who represented the team leader Humphrey Nabimanya, at the presser, unveiling of nominees and finalists will be on 1st August 2018 at Kampala Serena Hotel. The Lifetime Achievement award winner will also be announced on the same day.
Representatives from other partners and sponsors like Talent Africa, NBS TV and Incredible Media were also in attendance to show their support and commitment to the Awards.
