She has dazzled on the runways across the globe and done the cat walk in front of both local and international audiences as she strut her stuff. Showcased gracefully in different fashion platforms and built herself a reputable brand as a fashionista but now the elegant Judith Heard wants to venture into the unknown.
Well, unknown at least because her world has evolved around mostly the showbiz world of glitz and glamour and now she wants to venture into the rough terrain of sports and particularly football where joy is derived through sweat and those who delve into the deep end always do it for passion and personal inner joy that consumes the soul into state of obsession.
Heard, through her Judith Heard Foundation – a charity organization she founded and has been running for quite some time, recently partnered with ‘some friends’ to develop and nurture raw sports talent especially football in Uganda with emphasis on poor and underprivileged children who live in ghetto communities.
She recently received a consignment of sports items and equipment mainly Soccer boots totaling 800 pairs, Jerseys and trainers from her partners Volf Soccer Academy based in Canada and Czech Republic which she, together with her friends distributed to excited young soccer players.
“Sports build good habits, confidence, and discipline. They make players into community leaders and teach them how to strive for a goal, handle mistakes, and cherish growth opportunities. I was privileged to meet Libor Volf the founder of Volf Soccer Academy that has bases in Canada and Czech Republic.
We discussed the impact of sports and soccer as a whole and drew plans on how to promote the sport amongst the young men and women of Uganda”. Heard said
MORE ITEMS ARRIVE
While speaking to Chano8 in an exclusive interview, the veteran model intimated that, more items have been donated by the same group and have already arrived in the country.
“We have 2 more sacks of assorted sports items that our friends have sent to us. We have identified some youth groups in Kawempe Kazoo zone and as Judith Heard Foundation, will be giving them out this Sunday. I thank Volf Soccer Academy for the support”.
Heard also added that, Volf Soccer Academy is planning to open up an Academy in Uganda very soon and will be in here soon to finalize on the deal that will see hundreds of young talent nurtured.
“I’ll be looking out for youngins (sic) to offer a few resources as regards to training on and off pitch. He aims to have a sports facility in Uganda for this same cause. Remember, Sports not only builds better athletes but also better people”.
