It was around this time last year that Juliana’s only Son Keron Kabugo aged 11 passed on. The entire music fraternity was hurt over the sad news and his burial attracted thousands of people.
However, yesterday marked exactly one year since his passing and as a blessing in disguise, the AFRIMMA nomination list was released with Juliana emerging with three nominations in the Video of the year, East African female artiste of the year and Inspirational song.
The song that earned her the nominations is Woman and it’s the same song she first released after Keron had passed on.
People were wondering what had happened to the Diva for she had been off social media for some days, but she returned with a picture of herself and explained her absence by saying she needed some time to pray, remember and celebrate Keron.
“I have not been on social media for a couple of days. Needed some quiet time to myself so my family and I could pray, remember and celebrate the life of our son Keron. Yesterday 20th July marked one year since my dear son went to the Lord. It doesn’t feel like a year at all. But God has kept us strong and continues to do so. So I’m back online today and I find that i have 3 nominations. Wow!!! What a wonderful surprise. Thank you Afrimma. To vote for me please visit afrimma.com . You know we can do this… Blessings,” She posted.
Keron Kabugo was Juliana’s first and only son from Amon Lukwago but passed on at the Agakhan Nairobi hospital after he lost the battle to Asthma.
