Two of Uganda’s best selling female artistes Juliana and Irene Namubiru are scheduled to hold a joint show at Sabrina’s pub we have learnt.
Legendary musician Hope Mukasa is behind the show that is anticipated to take place on the 10th of October this year, but the two artistes are still in negotiations on how much each will get out of it.
Just like the previous battles where Chameleon took on Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool against Bobi Wine and then Goodlyf up against Bebe Cool, this will be the first female battle in Uganda.
Juliana and Irene started out their music careers almost at the same time and they became the best dynamic duo called I-Jay in 2000 until they separated to pursue solo careers.
They have since been at crossroads fighting for supremacy in the music industry, but both have managed to secure a huge fan base over the years.
Juliana is famed for tracks like Nabikowa, Taata Wabana and Maama Mbire with Bobi Wine, All I wanna Know featuring Klear Kut, Usiende Mbali with Bushoke, Ojja with Peter Miles, Guttuke alongside Moses Matovu, Sanyu lyange, and woman among others and is the first female artiste to have won an artiste of the year accolade in the Pearl of African Music awards (PAM).
On the other hand, Irene rose through the ranks with songs such as Temperature, Anjagala, Simbalala and lwaki Onzanyilangako with Bebe Cool, Birowozo, Yoono, Nkuweki and Begombeko to mention a few.
