Sauti Sol who are undoubtedly the best Kenyan group at the moment have been nominated for a BET award.
With their Sura Yako song having blown up African charts and their Nerea song receiving massive airplay, there couldn’t be a better suitor for the award. Sauti Sol is the only music group from East Africa that has been nominated for the Award that will see them travel to the US later this year.
The Kenyan boy band will battle for the BET Awards best international act along with South Africa’s AKA and The Soil, Ghana’s Sarkodie and Stonebwoy, DR Congo’s Fally Ipupa and Nigeria’s Wizkid and Yemi Alade.
According to Kenya’s Daily Nation, an official invite from the BET Network Chairman CEO Debra L. Lee to Sauti Sol read,
“Your nomination is a result of your outstanding achievement and accomplishments in your craft. Join me at this year’s in Los Angeles as we celebrate and recognise the best in entertainment.”
Sauti Sol is currently in the US where they expected to have massive tour, which has been dubbed #SautiSolRoad2BET. There shows will kick off on Thursday, May 21st in Minneapolis and end on Sunday May, 31st in Seattle.
