The Uganda Vintage Classic and Auto show is no longer about just exhibition of Vintage cars and enjoy the day’s performances. The organisers decided to make the show even more interesting by introducing the awarding of the best exhibitors following a simple criteria

The criteria is. The car must be clean, able to move, hoot and indicate among other things which the panel of judges expect of it. That was what we and the revellers who gathered at Kampala Sheraton Hotel Gardens saw at the 7th edition of the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) Vintage Classic and Auto Show last Saturday the 28th of July

With some new changes which saw the different exhibitors of other vintage items like motorcycles, radio cassettes, television sets, gramophones, typewriters to mention but a few, attendees had a whole day of looking at the items which were at display and the exhibitors had all the time explain to whoever was interested in knowing how the items used to function in their golden days

A few car and motor bike owners took part in the competition for the awards in the different categories whereas there were those cars which had been brought to just fulfil the formality that it was a vintage show. Allan Tor from Kenya was the overall winner and his car (1966 Peugeot 404) beat all the other cars to the top prize,

The competing cars were scrutinised by the panel of experienced judges in the field of motor vehicles and after the whole day of car exhibition and other activities, the revellers were unwound by performances from Qwela Band who took revellers on a music trip by performing covers to some oldies songs the revellers enjoyed

The VIP guests were treated to buffet meal which they enjoyed while enjoying performance from Qwela but above all, the event had was well attended and to those who missed this year, the 8th of the show awaits you in 2019
