It has been a tough time for Liverpool fans after coming close to winning the title 2 years back and now falling off miserably from top four in the premier league. The inconsistent performances continued with Liverpool ending last season in sixth place despite spending close to loads of money in transfers and Salaries for new players
However after another bad spell this season that has seen the team struggle yet again, management and bard of Liverpool FC decided it was time and sacked their manager Brenda Rodgers with immediate effect
According to media reports, the decision to dismiss Rodgers was made before Sunday’s draw at Everton, which left the Reds 10th in the Premier League and six points off top spot. The decision was received with mixed feelings among Liverpool fans across the world with majority agreeing with the board.
“Although this has been a difficult decision, we believe it provides us with the best opportunity for success on the pitch,”
“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Brendan Rodgers for the significant contribution he has made to the club and express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment.” said a club statement.
The hunt for a new manger is already on with Former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, Ajax boss Frank de Boer and ex-Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp Jurgen Klopp, who are currently out of work, the front runners to replace Rodgers.
“The search for a new manager is underway and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner,” added Liverpool’s statement.
