The war between local Artistes and DJs has evolved into bar fights it seems. MC Kats who hosts the exposed show on NTV, has vowed to fight for Ugandan music till his last breath and displayed his frustrations and devotion to the cause last Sunday at Kabalagala based club Venom where a fight broke out between Mc Kats himself and the in house MC known as Samo.
Revellers believed the fight was as a result of the much heated ongoing argument between some local artists and DJs over the latter group giving more airplay to Nigerian music rather than Ugandan music and as a result, the club was to dedicate 1hr of purely Ugandan music which DJ Bobby and MC Samo failed to adhere to.
Mc Kats said so many unfriendly things about Nigerian and foreign artists that led to some guests leaving earlier than planned. The heated debates started when Jose Chameleoene and Bebe Cool blasted local DJs and some media houses for ‘promoting’ foreign music especially Nigerian and Jamaican Music at the expense of Ugandan Music. The arguments reached boiling point when Fatboy (Sanyu FM) joined DJ Beekay (X-FM) in responding to Bebe Cool’s Facebook post calling for DJs to be ‘patriotic’ and play Ugandan music more.
As Samo is apparently nursing his wounds, Mc Kats has apologized for losing his temper, insults hauled at patrons and he hopes all is forgiven and forgotten. Hmmm we will keep you updated in case of new twists and turns in the new drama series.
