Mesach Semakula Sends Fans To Cloud 9 At His ‘Omwana wa Muteesa’ Concert

For the first ever, his eminence the Katikiro of Buganda went for a music concert by a local artiste and it was none other than Mesach Semakula’s ‘Omwana wa Muteesa nakulwala’ concert held last evening at Hotel Africana.

Going by the huge numbers that have always been gracing Mesach’s previous album launches, this year’s concert was fairly attended but it never deterred him from showcasing his best.

Clad in a white kanzu with a brown back-cloth coat and craft shoes, the former Pearl of Africa Music awards winner took to the stage at exactly 10pm with ‘Nyimbile Omutanda’ track that got the crowd on their feet to sing along. It was at this point that he went off and left Golden production band female artistes to entertain the crowd with the traditional backsimba dance.

He called on the katikiro to launch the song and said some touching story about their relationship. “You know him as the Katikiro of Buganda but I think of him as my guardian. He has played a very huge role in my life and I’m so grateful for that.” Messach said before he performed ‘Omwana Wa Muteesa nakulwala’, the title track of the album fifteen minutes to midnight
