The Ministry of Health yesterday came out with a document distancing itself from the rumor that circulated earlier last week claiming they had intervened in Carol’s travel arrangements to the US by refusing to release her VISA.
The ministry released a document saying the rumors are false and that the ministry is working hand in hand with whoever is in charge to see that Carol gets the treatment she deserves.
“The ministry wishes to dismiss false rumors that spread about the sector on the Save Carol campaign. We are not withholding any supporting documents that are stopping Carol from flying for treatment.” The document said.
They also tipped that the medical council board will be sitting on Tuesday and that all documents will be finalized for her immediate departure for treatment.
Carol Atuhirwe who has been suffering from malignant cancer for the last five years received public sympathy after her health issue was posted on social media.
Through the save Carol campaign that involved washing cars and much more, the patient received a total of 324.6million shillings out of the 270million she needed and on Thursday last week, she decided to donate a balance of 54million to the Uganda cancer Institute in Mulago.
