On Thursday night renowned rhythm and blues singer Robert Kelly (R Kelly) was arrested on federal sex charges in Chicago. This comes nearly five months after his release on bail for additional sexual abuse charges according to Illinois prosecutors.

Further details on the case are expected to be announced Friday in federal court for the Eastern District of New York.

In February this year, Kelly was charged with aggravated sexual abuse involving four women, three of whom were underage when the alleged abuse happened. He pleaded not guilty and was released from Chicago’s Cook County Jail after posting bail.
Fans have taken to social media to stand with R Kelly in trying moments as they wait for the verdict to come through although he maintains he is innocent.
