Last Night the 13th of April 2017, the long awaited Jam With Morgan Heritage concert finally took place at Lugogo Cricket Oval amid hundreds of fans who began flocking to the venue as early as 5 PM. Themed the Easter Weekend 2017 Lovers Rock And Roots Reggae Concert, it ushered the revellers into the long weekend that includes the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ plus other gigs set to happen.

The Royal Reggae Family of Morgan Heritage took to the stage at a few minutes past 10 PM with lots of ululations from the crowd, with the ladies taking the lead in screaming loud. With no waste of a second, they kicked off their breathtaking performance with songs like ‘Strictly Roots’, ‘Don’t Haffi Dread’, ‘A Man Is Still A Man’, ‘Can’t Get We Out’, ‘Works To Do’, ‘Inna Dem Ting Deh’, and ‘Nothing To Smile About’.

Peetah Morgan (the lead singer Morgan Heritage) had a remarkable showcase

The ladies did not disappoint but they cheered Morgan Heritage

The four were organised in an order where Peetah Morgan lead the singing, Gramps Morgan on the piano and vocals, Lukes Morgan on the guitar where as Mojo Morgan was on the percussion. Mid their performance, Peetah called upon Jose Chameleone with whom they did some brief Reggae freestyle as the fans cheered them on.

It was a big moment for Chameleone

“Uganda we love you and thank you all for coming. We fell like we are home in Jamaica.” Were some of the words Gramps told Uganda as they performed?

On the other hand, before Morgan Heritage, show time commenced at 8:40 PM when Mr Mosh the official host introduced the curtain raisers Juliana Kanyomozi and Vampino before the main curtain raiser Jemere Morgan (son to Morgan Heritage’s Gramps Morgan) took to the stage and performed some of his tunes like ‘International Love’, ‘Gold Old Roots’, ‘Anything You Want’, ‘Neighbourhood Girl’.
