He looked drowsy and worked out which is understandable considering he had a long flight and just landed in the wee hours of this morning but Mr Easy was in very good spirit this morning at a press conference organised at Kampala Serena Hotel to unveil the artistes and DJs scheduled to perform at the Bell Jamz concert dubbed ‘West Africa to Kampala featuring Tekno and Mr Eazi.
“I am excited to be here. It is my first time in Uganda but I feel I like it already. Although I have not yet had time to move around, I have heard about Rolex.” Mr Eazi said before he was given a taste of the now popular snack by the management of Kampala Serena Hotel.
He sent the packed press conference into boughts of laughter after giving a big bite and declaring “There is egg in there may be I will one day do a song about Rolex”
The two West African superstars will be the main headlining artistes at the concert scheduled for tomorrow at Lugogo Cricket Oval with gates opening as early as 3:00pm. They will be joined on stage by local stars like Bebe Cool who will jet in the country later in the evening, Queen of Ugandan music Sheebah Karungi of Team No sleep, new kid on the block YKee Benda, Cindy Sanyu ‘The King herself’, DJs Roja and Slick Stuart, BK and RPM among others.
Mr Ali Alibhai representing Talent Africa the organisers of the event said they are expecting over 15,000 people to attend the event and everything is set for the event. He also reiterated the fact that Tekno will definitely be in the country for the concert as he cleared the fears of the public after being asked whether a similar situation to that of Wizkid (when he failed to show up) would not arise.
He also made it clear that tickets will not be sold at the entrance but at Shell Select shops and at Definition Shop Acacia Mall. The tickets go for 35,000/- for ordinary and 100,000/- for VIP. Now that the artistes are here and confirmed to perform tomorrow, it is advisable for people to buy their tickets early enough.
Other representatives of the sponsors and organisers like Silk Events, Kampala Serena Hotel Renault SUV and NBS TV were all on the same page when it comes to being happy to see the artistes and pledging their full support for the event.
