MTV Video Music Awards: From The Racy Amber Rose Dress Code to Beyonce 20 minutes Marathon

From the red carpet event to the performances, the MTV Video Music Awards lived up to the hype.

The highlight of the red carpet event was when Amber Rose outdid herself and turned up in a series of chains that could barely be called a dress.

The MTV Video Music Awards are known for being the most unpredictable of all the awards shows, from the Kanye West shenanigans to the racy dress code which was showcased by Jennifer Lopez, Kesha, Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kendall and Kylie, Taylor Swift, Gwen Stefani and many others who glided down the arrivals line.

A very emotional Beyonce was presented with the Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards, after putting in an exhausting 20 minute performance of her latest album.

The ‘Drunk in Love’ star hugged and kissed her beau Jay Z and their two year old baby girl Blue Ivy as he presented her with the prestigious award.

Jay Z further said: ‘The recipient of the Michael Jackson Vanguard award and the greatest living entertainer Beyonce.’

An overwhelmed Beyonce said: ‘I’m so full. Thank you. I have nothing to say, but I’m filled with so much gratitude. I thank God for this moment. I love you so much.
‘Baby Blue, my beloved I love you.

One of the highlights of the awards was when Miley Cyrus sent up a homeless youth to accept her Video of the Year award.

Miley was excited to receive an award for her Wrecking Ball video, but chose to use the moment to promote social change.

The young man who later revealed his name is Jesse, explained he was accepting the award on behalf of the nation’s homeless youths.

He said: ‘I know because I’m one of those people I’ve survived in hotels all over this city. Been an extra in movies, been an extra in life.

‘Los Angeles, the entertainment capital, has the largest population of homeless youth in America.

‘He then told people they could make a change, saying, ‘a dream you dream alone is only a dream, but a dream you dream together is reality.
