The dust might have settled but many ardent fans are still cursing the police over blocking of musician Bobi Wine concerts some months ago.
Among those are music promoters Bajjo and Abitex who have decided to sue the Inspector General of Police Okoth Ochola following the cancellation of Bobi’s ‘Kyarenga’ extra concerts.
Not that the IGP was in the vicinity during the time they cancelled the concerts but mainly because the order might have come from him because he is the head of the Uganda Police force.
The two promoters have acquired the services of lawyer Erias Lukwago who went to High Court in Kampala on Wednesday morning to file a cause on behalf of Abitex and Bajjo Events.
According to Lukwago, they are seeking for orders to quash the decision of the IGP Okoth Ochola and Government in general that indefinitely banned ‘Kyarenga’ extra concerts countrywide.
He said they must explore all the available avenues to decisively deal with this kind of impunity and the violation of human rights and freedoms.
Kyarenga concerts were banned early this year and the latest was on ‘Easter Monday’ where Bobi Wine together with the promoters were arrested as they attempted to access ‘One Love Beach’, Busabala where the said concert was slated to be held.
