Nicki Minaj who graces the recent cover of the Rolling Stone magazine, has opened up about her darkest secret.
Known as a fierce rap goddess, the 32 year old openly spoke about having an abortion when she was still a teenager while in acting school.
Giving details about the horror which keeps haunting her, she said:
‘I thought I was going to die. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through.
‘It’s haunted me all my life. It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.’
Nicki Minaj first hinted at her abortion in her 2008 Autobiography, where she referred to herself as ‘mommy’.
Although little is known of the man who got pregnant in the first place he’s believed to have been an older man from Queens whom she met while in acting school.
This comes as a shock to many fans as she’s known to be private with her personal life. However, the Anancoda singer insists that she wants her fans to know little bit about her past and most of the material is on her recently released third album, The Pink Print. She added,
‘One of my goals was to give people a glimpse into my personal life, because it’s something I’ve kept very private.’
