Nominees for the Young Achievers Awards 2018 will be officially unveiled to the public tomorrow Wednesday August 1st , at a dinner to be held at Kampala Serena Hotel’s Katonga Hall.
According to organizers, the invite-only dinner will start at 6pm and will kick start a process to celebrate young creative individuals and entrepreneurs making a difference in their communities with exceptional initiatives aimed at developing themselves and the country at large.
The nominees will unveiled to the public in the presence of sponsors, partners, journalists and other key stakeholders in the lead up to the award night on August 18th.
“These exceptional youth’s initiatives have been recognized and their efforts ought to be appreciated by those who believe in the power of young people’s excellence, hard work and innovation”. Mr Ibrahim Waiswa Batambuze the Communications Officer Reach A Hand Uganda said.
The dinner will also serve as a great platform for youth to meet, engage and network with guests who will range from journalists, renown businessmen and women, international dignitaries many others.
Some of the success stories of defying the odds changing the narrative of our country by creating their tomorrow today, from some of the young people will be shared to inspire the other fellow youth invited to spread the word.
JOHNNIE WALKER INJECTS 80 MILLION
Mean while Johnny Walker recently injected 80million into the awards to become the official title sponsors for 2018. Part of the sponsorship package will go into organising a pre-event cocktail for guests and also for publicity of the awards
The Young Achievers Awards has been growing in leaps and bounds since its inception seven years ago in 2009. Last year, after it was officially taken over by Reach A Hand Uganda, the awards ceremony held at Kampala Serena Hotel were so magnificent, full of pomp and glamour..
The Young Achievers Awards platform is designed to celebrate the achievements of youth Ugandans who have excelled in the realms such as the Arts, Entrepreneurship, Media and Journalism, Philanthropy, Innovation and Sports among others, as well as encourage those who choose the path of entrepreneurship and leadership..
This year’s edition will celebrate 10 most outstanding young people in the categories of; Social Entrepreneurship, Business, Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Innovation, Outstanding Sports Personality, Media and Journalism, Farming and Agro-Processing, Music, Fashion, Film & Photography, Young Achiever of the Year, Young Hero/Heroine of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement award.
