Operation Wealth Creation Launches KandongoKamu Competition, 25 Artistes Battling For 100Million

For some time now the Operation Wealth Creation under the auspices of the UPDF and General Caleb Akandanwaho a.ka Salim Saleh has been involved in many projects across the country aiming to empower the ordinary wanainchi and create wealth to Ugandans especially those not involved in the money sector.

It is for this reason that today the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) took it yet to another level when they announced that they in support of the Uganda Music Promoters and Venue Owners Association will hold the OWC Kandongokamu Music Competition Grand Finale at Kololo Independence Grounds on the 16th December 2017 where 25 kadongokamu artists from all over the country who have already made it to the finals will battle it out for a combined prize money of UGX 100M. The 25 finalists were also unveiled today.

The announcement was made this morning at The Uganda Media Centre in Kampala and according to the organisers, the grand finale will be held before an audience filled with a mix of judges, OWC well wishers, partners, sponsors as well as an enthusiastic crowd.

In a speech read to him by the day’s host Sylvia Owori Gen. Saleh encouraged participating artistes to mobilize fellow Ugandans especially the 68% outside the money economy to engage in sustainable commercial agricultural production in order to eradicate poverty once and for all.

The Chairperson Organising Committee Major (Rtd) Rubaramira Ruranga while giving his remarks described the campaign as ‘war’ which has to be fought on all fronts just like how they have already fought and won so many other wars since the bush war.

“This operation is for those not involved in the money economy like KandongoKamu artistes who must also benefit from the war. The war must continue in different forms like music to carry and deliver the message of wealth creation.” The lively retired Major said.

“Element of health must also be included in the this war  because when people are healthy, we don’t have to go to hospital and waste valuable time as the message has to be put out there. The wanainchi trusts the army that’s why the war is with UPDF. because the army always delivers. He added.
