Meadow Rain Walker, the 17 year old daughter to deceased movie star Paul Walker is officially $10.1 million richer. This comes after the Rodas Estate, belonging to the family of driver Roger Rodas who died with Walker in the gruesome accident, paid the money into the budding teenager’s trust. Rodas had accepted partial responsibility for the accident through the estate, which her father could have survived.
Meadow’s attorney Jeff Millam mentioned that the amount paid was “only a fraction” of the amount her father would have earned as a movie star had his life not been tragically shortened in the fatal accident back in 2013. Rodas was the driver of the Carrera GT, losing control and ramming into trees before the car burst into flames.
Earlier last week, California U.S District judge Phillip S. Gutierrez declared Porsche ‘not responsible’ for the 2013 car crash that claimed the lives of both the “Fast and Furious” star and Rodas. This was after Rodas’ widow Katrine had filed a lawsuit against the automobile company, stating that among other things, the car lacked a crash cage and fuel cell.
“The plaintiff has provided no competent evidence that Rodas’ death occurred as a result of any wrongdoing on the part of the defendant”, he said in the ruling.
However, Meadow too had sued the company, which is rated at $13 billion, for the death of her father. The ruling in favour of Porsche in Kristine’s case will have no effect or influence on the Meadow case.
