The last Saturday evening drizzles couldn’t stop the fashion enthusiasts and well wishers from making their way to Kingdom Kampala where the 2019 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) nominees in the 14 categories were unveiled at what they called ‘Nominee Release Cocktail Party’ .
It was a merry making event which was the climax of the Fashionpreneur summit that was held earlier in the day, focusing on the role of fashion and the creative industry in shaping the economy. The Ciroc Sponsored party which kicked off at few minutes past 7 PM saw some of the nominees and other attendees showcase their fashion outfits the whole crowd to see and appreciate
Before the official release/unveiling of the nominees, revellers were treated to the best of live Dj mixes by Dj Tony among other Djs to keep them in the party mood, as they also interacted and enjoyed what the glamorous party had to offer
At 10: 45 PM, artistes performances from Karole Kasita and Mr ‘Parte After Parte’, rapper Bigtril brought another wave of entertainment. Karole came first and performed some of her songs, which she accompanied with some awesome dance moves, alongside a pair of dancers
Trizzy as he sometimes calls himself later took to the stage to do what he does best and fans got to their toes when he performed Uganda’s current hit song ‘Parte After Party’
There was a special time to announce all the nominees in each category and those who were present, especially those in Uganda, showed face at the stage the crowd to see them.
The party had celebs like Tanzanian singer Harmonize, Eddy Kenzo, A Pass, Oliver Nakakande (Miss Uganda 2019/20), Vinka, Betinah Tiana, comedian Chico among others in attendance.
This year’s edition of the ASFAs which is the biggest fashion event in East Africa will run under the theme “The Starz”. It is a mission to shine a global spotlight on the African Fashion Industry while highlighting creativity, achievement and excellence.
Talent Africa which is one Uganda’s leading events and entertainment company partnered with the organisers to make the event a success.
